In recent times a shocking tropical storm hit the City of Iligan in the Philippines, causing subsequent flooding, devastating the area and killing over 1000 people so far. The community of Iligan are in desperate need of help to assist in building temporary shelters, as thousands have no protection from the elements and are currently living on the street.

East Coast Apprenticeships continues its efforts to assist other organisations within the community. A project was recently undertaken at the Burpengary Riding for the Disabled Association.

Buoyed by Bechtel’s recent uptake of 400 adult apprentices, considered to be possibly the largest intake of adult apprentices in Australian history, the National Apprenticeships Program (NAP) is actively seeking more employers to join the scheme.
